Fitness requirement: Our 'Meet the Team' 5km will be appropriate for anyone who has previously completed a 5k run of any description, regardless of a finishing time. The morning is ideally aimed at new or novice runners who have not been on the trails before.
Intro/Taster Ethos: Our aim is to make these guided trail runs accommodating, social, adventurous & most importantly good fun!
Schedule:
9.30am - 10.00am: Meet at the 'Forest Fence' - hot & cold drinks can be purchased at the bar.
10.00am: Each member of our team gives a short talk about what trail running means to them and collectively what we're trying to achieve with LTR. This will be followed by any questions you may have.
11.00am: A social, off-road 5k - it’s a guided run, not a race! We'll gently flow on some great trails, at a very easy pace and there’ll be an upbeat and friendly atmosphere throughout. There’ll be small amounts of brisk walking on some of the inclines - with no pressure to ‘keep up’.
12.15pm: Grab yourself a rewarding post run drink or bite to eat at the bar, then let us know what you thought of the morning.
Route: You can expect anything from; fields and farm tracks, cobbles, towpaths, ginnels, woodland, moorland, bridle paths and drovers’ roads, green lanes and stepping stones, fords, bridges and stiles. Be prepared for boggy bits and the odd “mildly undulating” hill - which we'll most likely walk up.
